The Sacred Transition
I met Elizabeth Taylor, the founder of The Sacred Transition, through our mentor Lena Franklin during a Meditation Mentorship Group. There was an undeniable soul connection between us which has flourished into a deep friendship and sisterhood as we've gotten to know each other. It is not often you find someone who has been able to turn life-changing grief and loss into a mission of love, compassion, and care. Elizabeth's story is truly one of the capacity of the human heart to turn dark into light, grief into compassion, and loss into hope. Not only do I connect deeply with Elizabeth and her mission, but after being a caregiver myself, I understand and relate to the challenges that come with it. Being a caregiver can be scary, lonely, and overwhelming (to name a few); the work of The Sacred Transition is so vital in helping people feel loved and supported during extremely difficult times. I chose The Sacred Transition as one of my selected charities because Elizabeth and her mission are the embodiment of authentic care.
How Donations Will Be Used
The Sacred Transition's mission is to cultivate a community of compassionate support and empathy for people living with cancer, caregivers and their networks as they navigate their cancer journey, using care packages as a tool for connection, respect, dignity and spiritual elevation. In support of this mission, all donations to The Sacred Transition will go directly towards purchasing care packages and related operating costs. These care packages are valued at $200. They include items such as a fuzzy blanket, tissues, chapstick, mindfulness coloring book, coloring pencils, essential oils, journal, self-care items, travel pillow, and other items.
